POOL ONE (Blue) Geelong Ringwood Diamond Valley Dandenong | POOL TWO (White) Bendigo Latrobe Valley Sunraysia bye |
Geelong has finished second - to Dandenong - in the Under 14 Winter Carnival decided in Bendigo over 23/24 May.
Starting in Pool One, the team lost two and and won the third of its
Saturday games. Apparently a little slow to get started, the Geelong boys went
down narrowly to Ringwood before their second round loss to Dandenong.
However, reinvigorated by a team dose of Mars Bars, Geelong handed out
a 15-0 hiding to Diamond Valley, who are always tough to beat.
Continuing
their fine form into the second day, Geelong beat Ringwood in a
thriller and Dandenong in a quality game of baseball, giving the side a
total of three wins and two losses (with a bye on Sunday afternoon). Geelong handed the strong Dandenong team its only loss for the weekend.
Congratulations to team members and management staff on a terrific effort. A special mention to Werribee's Matt Howe on being selected at third base in the "CITY" All-Star team (scroll down for both teams). Well done!
Geelong scores are posted below. All competition details and ladders will be added as they become available.
